EM Acoustics was founded in 2002 by Ed Kinsella and Mike Wheeler and has grown from a converted fire station into a factory at Dunsfold Park in Surrey. Woodworking, cabinet assembly, paint spraying, final assembly and quality control all happen in that one building, which is unusual in an industry where most cabinets are outsourced.

The company built its reputation on passive loudspeakers at a time when the market was moving toward heavy DSP correction.
