Technical Specifications

Drivers and Dispersion

A 4-inch voice-coil, 15-inch neodymium low-frequency transducer is coupled to a 3-inch diaphragm, 1.4-inch exit neodymium compression driver on a constant-coverage horn, producing a rotatable 60 x 40 degree pattern with strong off-axis rejection for predictable, consistent coverage across large rooms.

Cabinet and Rigging

The 15mm multi-laminate birch plywood enclosure is heavily braced and finished in impact- and weather-resistant textured polyurethane, black or white as standard with RAL matching available. Keyhole rigging plates with quick-release pins sit top and bottom, each offering four M10 rigging points, plus a rear M8 safety point and a 35mm polemount socket underneath.

Amplification and Processing

A single amplifier channel delivering 1000-1500W RMS into 8 ohms is required. Fully passive, the EMS-156 needs no active DSP for normal use, though external high-pass and limiter protection is recommended when driven from EM Acoustics' Advanced System Amplifiers.

Applications

Full-range front-of-house and fill reinforcement for live music venues, houses of worship, and touring or fixed installations at medium to large scale.
