Audio and control in one box
HARVEY is built in Berlin by DSPECIALISTS, founded in 2003 and specialising in digital audio signal processing and measurement. The proposition is a single freely programmable matrix that handles audio DSP and media control together, rather than an audio processor and a control processor that have to be made to talk to each other.
For conferencing, corporate and multi-purpose spaces that consolidation is the whole argument. HARVEY acts as the control centre for audio, lighting and media equipment and converts between interfaces itself, which removes a rack of converters. Fewer boxes means fewer failure points, less to program, and less to explain to whoever inherits the room after handover.
Channels scale in steps of four, so the same platform covers a small meeting room at 8x8 and a large distributed system running Dante and AES alongside analogue. Hypermatrix links multiple units so a building behaves as one system, and configuration is done by drag and drop in HARVEY Composer rather than by writing code. Day to day, users control it from a wall panel or a tablet.
The range at 7HERTZ
- HARVEY Pro 0x24-DA: output-focused configuration with Dante, for distributed systems fed from the network.
- HARVEY Pro 8x8-DA: the balanced configuration, and the usual starting point for a conference room or boardroom.
- HARVEY Pro 8x16-DA: more outputs for zoned and multi-room systems.
All three carry Dante alongside their analogue I/O. Other configurations are available if none of these matches the room.
Where it fits
Conference and boardroom systems, corporate campuses, government and education, museums, theatres and multi-purpose venues. HARVEY Pro runs the stage management communication system at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, which is a fair indication of how much can be asked of it.
Buying HARVEY in the UAE and GCC
The value in this product is in how it is programmed, not what is in the box. As official distributor we provide system design, DSP and control configuration and commissioning from Dubai, with manufacturer warranty handled regionally.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a HARVEY system cost?
Pricing depends on the I/O configuration and how many units a building needs. Send us your room schedule and we will specify and quote the system, including the configuration work.
What does an audio and media control matrix actually replace?
A separate DSP, a separate control processor and usually a set of interface converters. HARVEY handles audio processing, routing and control logic in one device and converts between interfaces itself, which cuts down the rack and the number of things that can fail.
How do I choose between the HARVEY Pro models?
By input and output count. The model names describe the analogue I/O, so the 8x8-DA has eight inputs and eight outputs, and the DA suffix indicates Dante. Tell us the room schedule and we will size it for you.
Does HARVEY support Dante?
Yes. All three HARVEY Pro DA models carry a 64x64-channel Dante interface with primary and secondary redundancy alongside their analogue I/O. Tell us your network and we will confirm.
Can HARVEY control lighting and other AV equipment?
Yes. Each unit has Ethernet, RS-232 and RS-485/DMX control ports plus GPIs, GPOs and relay contacts, so it can act as the control centre for audio, lighting and media equipment. End users typically operate it from a wall panel or a tablet.
Can multiple units work together across a building?
Yes, using Hypermatrix, which lets distributed installations be configured and managed as a single system.
Do you provide programming and commissioning?
Yes, and it is the part that matters most with this product. Our technical team handles DSP configuration, control logic and commissioning so the room works as intended at handover.
