Driver Configuration

A single high-excursion 18-inch neodymium LF driver anchors the design, tuned for a strong power-to-size ratio and a fast transient response through the vented enclosure.

Build and Mounting

18mm multi-laminate birch plywood construction carries an impact- and weather-resistant polyurethane finish (black or white standard, RAL and outdoor options available). An M20 polemount adapter allows EMS Series loudspeakers to be stacked directly above; rear castors, rubber feet with matching stacking recesses, twin steel bar handles, and a hex-punched stainless steel grille round out the mechanical package, along with a pair of Neutrik speakON NL4 connectors.

Amplifier Compatibility

The S-18 needs an active crossover and a single amplifier channel, with wide filter-point flexibility. EM Acoustics' Advanced System Amplifiers are recommended, though other DSP-enabled or externally processed amplifiers work with the published filter settings; the driving channel should deliver 1500-2000W RMS into 4 ohms. Cardioid DSP presets are also available for stacking three enclosures into a rear-rejecting block array, with separate amplifier channels needed for the rear-firing boxes.

Corporate and AV systems and live sound reinforcement paired with EMS Series or other manufacturers' full-range loudspeakers.
