Cardioid Design
A front-firing 18-inch and a rear-firing 15-inch driver, each in their own braced and ported chamber, are tied together with a passive crossover network instead of a dual-channel active setup. That passive network alone produces over 20dB of rear rejection while the whole box runs off a single amplifier channel, the same single-channel-only approach that sets CS Series cardioid control apart from generic actively-processed subs.
Driver Configuration
Both the 18-inch front driver and 15-inch rear driver are neodymium units built for maximum linearity at high excursion, keeping performance consistent across the full operating envelope.
Build and Mounting
The birch-plywood cabinet carries an impact- and weather-resistant polyurethane finish (black or white standard, RAL and outdoor options available), four flush bar handles, protective skids, and twenty M10 flying points across two quick-release keyhole flyplates. An M20 pole adapter and dual Neutrik speakON NLT4 connectors are standard, with the spare contact pair on each connector letting subs and full-range boxes run off one 4-core cable.
Amplifier Compatibility
Essentially amplifier-agnostic, the CS18 needs just one DSP-capable amplifier channel for its filters and limiters. EM Acoustics' Advanced System Amplifiers are the reference recommendation, though other DSP-enabled or externally processed amplifiers work with the published filter settings; the driving channel should deliver 1000-1600W RMS into 6 ohms.
