Technical Specifications

Drivers and Dispersion

A 5-inch low-frequency driver is paired with a 1.1-inch soft-dome high-frequency transducer, producing a 75 degree conical dispersion pattern. The cabinet is an infinite-baffle design, which is unusual at this size and gives a gentler 12dB-per-octave low-frequency roll-off along with sturdier bass output than a comparable reflex or sealed box would manage.

Cabinet and Rigging

The enclosure is built from multi-laminate birch plywood finished in impact-resistant textured paint, with RAL colour options available. Both horizontal and vertical mounting yokes ship as standard, and a rigid steel grille protects the drivers up front.

Amplification and Processing

A single amplifier channel delivering 300-500W RMS into 8 ohms is required. Being fully passive, the EMS-51 outperforms many bi-amped or DSP-processed alternatives without needing any active correction; EM Acoustics' DQ Series amplifiers are recommended for best results.

Applications

Compact stand-alone or subwoofer-paired sound reinforcement for corporate AV, hospitality, and general installed sound use.
