The R6 bridges the gap between the R5 and R8, bringing Reference Series performance to a compact box with a genuinely surprising output ceiling. It’s built for powerful front fill and delay in theatres, discreet corporate and AV reinforcement, and, thanks to its higher SPL headroom than the smaller models, light front-of-house duty in smaller live music rooms.

Driver Configuration

A pair of 6.5-inch neodymium LF drivers works with a coaxial 3-inch/2-inch MF/HF compression driver, a scaled-down version of the coaxial unit used in the larger Reference Series models, so the voicing carries through consistently. A two-way crossover keeps off-axis parallax and lobing under control.

Waveguide and Dispersion

Two bespoke rotatable waveguides, 110 x 50 degrees wide and 80 x 50 degrees narrow, are supplied as standard. As with the rest of the series, the fitted waveguide and its orientation stay identifiable without removing the grille.

Build and Mounting

Birch-plywood construction with a weather- and impact-resistant polyurethane finish (black or white standard, RAL and outdoor options available) is matched to a stainless steel front grille and flying plate, quick-release flying hardware and threaded rigging points.

Amplifier Compatibility

Amplifier-agnostic operation is built into the design; EM Acoustics' DQ and Di Advanced System Amplifiers are the reference recommendation, with per-channel loading documented for each.

Applications

Front fill and delay in theatres, corporate and AV reinforcement, houses of worship, cafes and bars, and small-scale live sound front-of-house.
