The 115 FA is the top-of-range mid/high unit in HK Audio’s LINEAR 5 MK2 touring series, built around a 15-inch driver for the strongest low-frequency output in the family. It’s positioned as a full-range workhorse that can run alone as a stereo pair or be extended with a LINEAR 5 MK2 subwoofer, aimed at production companies needing one box to cover a wide range of gig sizes.

Driver Configuration and Dispersion

A 15-inch cone driver with a 3-inch voice coil is bi-amped alongside a 1-inch compression driver on a 1.7-inch voice coil, loaded into a rotatable constant-directivity horn. The longer horn geometry extends throw distance compared to the smaller LINEAR 5 MK2 models, and the 60 x 40 degree dispersion pattern rotates for horizontal or vertical clustering when boxes are stacked or flown together.

DSP and Control

Onboard DSP includes a 10-band parametric EQ, high-pass and low-pass filtering, delay, and limiting, accessible locally or remotely through HK Audio's DSP CONTROL software over a MILAN digital audio network connection. A dedicated preset tunes the 115 FA's filter response to match HK Audio's own LINEAR 5 MK2 subwoofers when the two are run together in a system. MILAN is an AVB-based network standard, so the speaker joins Milan networks directly; Dante-based sites can connect it through a format bridge such as a DirectOut converter.

Build and Mounting

The hybrid birch plywood/MDF cabinet is finished in jet black acrylic enamel with a protective steel front grille. Rigging is via a 3 / 7 degree pole-mount tilt system and three M8 points, with optional tilt brackets for flown use on the cabinet's MultiGrip handles.

Full-range front-of-house or monitor use for live sound, corporate AV, and touring production where a single powered box needs to scale from small stages to larger stereo rigs.
