Driver Configuration and Dispersion

The COSMO C 6 is a passive 2-way mid/high unit with two 6.5-inch SICA cone speakers (neodymium magnet, 2-inch voice coil) loaded to an acoustic coupler, which increases the maximum sound pressure level, and a 1.4-inch B&C compression driver with a 3-inch voice coil on an MCT horn. The crossover sits at 1kHz with 12 dB/oct slopes. Its 100 degree horizontal by 10 degree vertical dispersion and low overall height make it the widest-coverage unit in the COSMO family, suited to very wide audience areas.

Build and Mounting

The bass-reflex cabinet is built from birch plywood with a PU coating in Jet black (RAL 9005) and a steel front grille with anticorrosive coating and acoustic foam backing. It measures 60.0 x 22.0 x 45.0cm, weighs 20.2kg, and has four integrated carrying handles and 3-point rigging hardware. All COSMO mid/high units share the same footprint, so the C 6 requires no adapters and leaves no gaps when combined with C 10 and C 8 units, which makes it ideal as the bottom section of a mixed line array.

Amplification and DSP Compatibility

The C 6 is passive and rated at 400W RMS into 16 ohms. HK Audio provides amplifier presets for Lab.gruppen and Lake controllers and for Powersoft Armonia Plus, along with DSP preset files and GLL simulation data for the COSMO family.

Applications

A compact solution for very wide audience areas and for speech applications, where the wide frequency range works without additional subwoofers. Paired with COSMO subwoofers, it also suits rock and pop gigs, and its low weight helps where load capacity is limited.
