Capsule and Design

An asymmetrical body design lets the mic slide into small front-head port holes without risking the drum skin. It can be positioned inside or outside the shell.

Frequency Response

The 4055 offers a flat on-axis response with a controlled, linear off-axis response and a 6 dB soft boost around 10 kHz, so engineers can dial in attack, boom or midrange detail in the mix rather than fighting a mic with a fixed tonal signature.

Applications

Kick drum and other high-energy, bass-heavy instruments in live and studio recording.
