The mainframe is licensed granularly, so a system can start small and grow by unlocking software features rather than swapping hardware.
Modular I/O
The chassis has one A slot and two C slots, using the same hardware modules as the PRODIGY series. The A slot takes an audio network, multi-port MADI or USB card for up to 256 channels; each C slot takes a converter (mic/line, AD/DA) or AES3 card at 8 channels. Two onboard SFP cages add up to two further MADI ports at 64 channels each, and total capacity reaches 400 x 402 audio channels. Network formats span RAVENNA/AES67, Dante, AVB/MILAN and SoundGrid, alongside MADI (single and multi-port), analogue, AES3 and USB.
DSP
64 Flex Channels carry the internal plugin set: 16 FIR filters with selectable filter types plus a custom filter, 64 IIR filters with six selectable filter type instances each, 64 Dynamics processors with four configurations, and 64 Delays of up to 65535 samples (about 1.37 seconds at 48 kHz). A 64x64 Matrix Mixer routes any source to any of 64 busses, 64 Summing Busses combine signal sources into single feeds, and AutoMix handles automated mixing across up to 16 groups for cleaner speech pickup. DSP capacity is sold in licence packages so a system only pays for the processing it uses.
Redundancy and Control
Bidirectional sample rate conversion (HD SRC or FastSRC) bridges devices on different clocks, 32 Input Managers handle automatic switchover across up to six physical inputs each, and EARS provides automatic fail-over of an entire input port to a backup. Control runs through globcon over the network, a front-panel touch display for local operation, and optional third-party protocols including Ember+, OSC, SNMP, JSON-API and Lawo HOME. Eight routable channels of loudness metering are also built in.
