Rack Configuration and Connectivity
The SD-Mini Rack is a 4-slot input and output rack, with each slot accepting either an input or an output card. In a digital configuration it runs up to 32 inputs and 32 outputs, as each slot provides 8 channels in and out, and with analogue cards it provides 32 inputs or 32 outputs in any combination in banks of eight, for example 8 in and 24 out. MADI connectivity is standard, with an optional Optocore optical interface. The front panel has redundant MADI BNC ports, two MADI split outputs with built-in sample rate conversion, word clock I/O and a USB Type B port for firmware updates and DiGiCo Control software.
Build and Mounting
A compact 4U rack-mountable design measuring 482.6 x 408.5 x 177mm and weighing 12kg, built for touring with a rugged design. Two redundant internal power supplies are fitted, and the MADI pod is removable for cleaning and repair. Cards are hot-swappable and automatically identified and configured, a front LCD menu screen flashes between white and green so a healthy sync can be seen from a distance, and locked controls prevent accidental setting changes.
Signal Processing and Compatibility
Based on the same Stealth FPGA technology as the SD-Range consoles, the SD-Mini offers high-resolution A/D conversion with DiGiCo’s Gain Tracking, and can run multiple sample rates to external devices over MADI. The optional Optocore interface (HMA, OpticalCON or ST, upgradable to SingleMode) lets it join an optical loop with other DiGiCo racks and consoles. Compatible cards include 32-bit mic pre-amp, 32-bit DAC, ADC and DAC, AES/EBU I/O, AES-42, Dante, ADAT, SDI and Aviom. Cards are sold separately, and this model is supplied unloaded with MADI only.

A compact stage box for live shows, installs and broadcast, whether paired with an SD console, joined to a DiGiCo optical loop or used as a standalone rack.
