Amplification and Power
GlidePath DC-couples the DSP and amplifier stages to cut distortion and time offset compared to conventional AC-coupled designs. True Cone Excursion management shapes high-transient output to protect connected loudspeakers from mechanical wear over time. The amplifier drives low-impedance loads or 70V/100V constant-voltage lines directly, and four analogue inputs are available as fallback sources if the network connection drops.
Networking and Control
A 96kHz-capable 16x16 Dante card is fitted as standard, with primary/secondary ports for switched or redundant network topologies and AES67 support for interoperability with other standards-based audio networks. Since the CP716D shares that Dante backbone, it can sit on the same network as other Dante/AES67 equipment we supply, including DiGiCo consoles, KLANG processors, DirectOut converters, and Sound Devices Astral wireless receivers, without extra conversion hardware. Setup and monitoring run through APEX's browser-based IntelliCloud WebUI, reachable over the amplifier's built-in WiFi hotspot or a wired LAN connection, with cloud access for remote site management.
DSP and Processing
A 64-bit fixed-point DSP engine handles a flexible I/O routing matrix, per-channel and per-group gain/delay/polarity, 12-band parametric EQ (16 filter types) at the user, group, and speaker-preset stages, HP/LP crossover filters (Bessel, Butterworth, Linkwitz-Riley, 6-48 dB/oct), 768-tap FIR filtering per channel, and peak/RMS limiting.
