Seminar: Introduction to Biofeedback
BRI provides training to professionals just beginning their biofeedback careers. We provide instruction geared to getting the most out of the Bio Integrator Plus, a premier biofeedback instrument designed by BRI to integrate peripheral measure feedback with EEG training. Introductory courses include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Experience applying various sensors in many hookup protocols. You will practice different kinds of hookups at various sites, and learn handy tips geared to the special requirements of each hookup montage.
  
  
• Hands-on practice using the biofeedback techniques most appropriate for various client populations. We can help you work with a wide variety of client concerns, including ADD/ADHD, chronic pain, neuromuscular re-education, stress-related disorders, and other specific presenting complaints. We will give you insight into the issues associated with working with children and adult populations.
  
  
• Instruction in how to utilize the many features of the Bio Integrator to provide clients with customized training that accelerates the development of self-regulatory skills. You will learn to use different biofeedback displays and audio options to train clients most effectively in various physiological modalities. We can help you decide what physiologies might be best for particular clients. We can help you understand and develop protocols for various presenting complaints.
  
  
• Strategies for focusing on general relaxation, personal development, and optimal functioning.
  
  
• Instruction in the many benefits of personal training. Personal training is process by which clinicians learn sophisticated self-regulatory skills through their own biofeedback sessions. Personal training substantially enhances practitioners' abilities to serve clients.
  
  
• Guidance in how to most effectively integrate biofeedback into a professional practice, such as the ins and outs of writing reports, creating documentation for insurance purposes, and stimulating referrals.

Seminar: Advanced Biofeedback
Seminars in advanced biofeedback include all of the above, geared to those with more experience in the field. In these seminars, we provide instruction in RSA/breathwork and the advanced integration of peripheral measures with EEG.

Seminar: Neurofeedback (EEG) Training
EEG seminars focus on developing skills in creating client neurofeedback protocols and hookup procedures for alpha/theta training and ADD/ADHD. We also provide instruction on EEG frequencies, bandwidths, artifact, and optimization of the audio and visual feedback loop.

Seminar: Peak Performance Training and the Transformational Process
In addition, BRI has pioneered a model of peak performance training that is tailored to individual needs. We work with people seeking personal development, peak performance training, and facilitation of the transformational process. Their goals range from meditation training to public speaking, from performance anxiety to general stress management, and from athletic performance to exploration of specialized states of consciousness.

BRI has a unique history consisting of extensive academic and research experience, deep clinical training, and instrument design. This powerful matrix of experience supports and enriches health professionals and clients coming to BRI.

Stephen Wall, M.A., Director of BRI, became involved with biofeedback in 1979, and began examining left- and right-brain high-resolution computerized EEG in 1980. Steve established the Bio Research Institute in 1983 to advance understanding of the relationships between mind and body in order to promote healing and increase our knowledge of specialized states of consciousness. Steve taught at Sonoma State University in the Biofeedback Professional Training Sequence from 1981-1998.

In 1992, the knowledge acquired during many years culminated in the birth of the Bio Integrator™. This system is the first complete EEG/body measuring instrument to receive permission to market from the FDA.

Catherine Wynia, M.A., Joined the Institute in 1987, after completing the three-year training program at Sonoma State University. She now teaches psychophysiology and biofeedback at SSU, and has become skilled in the BioIntegration™ training strategy, working with a wide variety of clients. She has extensive experience in complex EEG and peripheral measure feedback For the past three years, she has been teaching biofeedback with the Bio Integrator™ at BRI and other training facilities. Catherine specializes in providing seminars for individuals and groups who wish to learn advanced professional biofeedback skills.
